Can't wait for Halloween!

Halloween is tomorrow!

The kids are excited. They've been couting down the days for
the past couple weeks already...lol :)

What are your kids gonna be for Halloween?
Are you dressing up too?

Mimi wanted to be a princess, so she chose to be
Rapunzel from Tangled.

Bub wanted to be Hawkeye from The Avengers movie.
We couldn't find the costume at Party City or Walmart,
so I decided that his costume would be "handmade" this year.

Off to savers we went to find things for his costume.
I think we did an awesome job. :)

I also asked my mom's bf to make his bow and arrrows.
It came out bigger than i thought,
but it's still awesome.

I handmade the arm band things and I sewed on the hawkeye
emblem on the vest. So, his whole costume is thrifted and handmade. :)

Feeling Sew Happy

It's been awhile since I've sewn anything.

So, today I made a circle skirt for Mimi using this knit flat sheet
I got from the thrift store. I'm also planning on making PJ pants
for Bub with this material since he loves Pokemon. :)

online and I thought it was a great idea, so I immediately
thought, "Hey, I can make that myself."

So here is my version of the Mommy Shopping Tote Bag. :)

I used canvas for the outside and this super cute "miffy" fabric
for the lining, and handles I got from the thrift store awhile back.
There is also a little zipper pocket inside.

I also hand drew a "miffy" on the front of the bag. :)

I think it came out awesome!! Hehehe...I love it.

Have an awesome day! :)

Dalmatians & a Lil' bit of Kawaii

Yesterday I made a small "quilt" for Mimi.

I used some new polka dot fabric, a vintage 101 dalmatian
flat sheet I got from the thrift store awhile back, and
her baby swaddle blanket that had a big hole in it.

I didn't want to throw her baby blankey away because
she loves it soo much. So I decided to incorporate it into the quilt. :)

Today I made a Kawaii Phone Case from Mr. Kate's tutorial.
Check it out. It's easy and super fun. :)

I made a Pink & Grey themed case with Totoro
and a lil' Hello Kitty Bow.

Super Kawaii!! :)
Hehehe....

Maxi Dress Refashion

So, I've had this tube top maxi dress for awhile.
I've seen a few DIY videos online for making a "asymetrical/fish tail/waterfall"
skirt or dress, and I thought I'd give it a try.

I liked this as a maxi dress, but I thought it would look sooo much
cuter as a "asymetrical/fish tail/waterfall" type of dress.
Seriously, what is this style called?? Different people call
this style different things, so I'm not too sure.

Anyway, this dress is made from soft jersey knit fabric,
so I just cut it and left it. I didn't hem it or anything because
I'm pretty sure that it will not fray or anything.

This time I took a BEFORE picture!! Yay! LOL!
And here is the AFTER:

I added the belt for a bit more shape.
I love how it turned out. :)

Chip and Dale

We went to the thrift store earlier this week and Mimi
saw these silky Chip and Dale pajama bottoms.
She was like,"Ooh, mommy! Chipmunks! I want that!"
At first I didn't want to get it. It was a women's pajamas.
But then I was like, I could soooo refashion that into something she could wear. :P
So.....I bought it.

I always forget to take a BEFORE picture whenever I
upcycle/refashion something. But here is the final product. I turned the
shorts into a "pillowcase" style type of top.
I kept the bottom hem so I didn't need to create a new one,
and I used this soft headband elastic for the strap.
I think it turned out pretty cute. :)

Oh! I also made this jewelry organizer the other day
using a picture frame and corkboard.
I love it. :)
Simple and Awesome. :)
