Spring Break 2012

Spring break is over.
Today, Bub went back to school.
I'm sad that it was only one week. I wish I could spend more
alone time with the kids, even though they drive me crazy sometimes.
That's kids for ya, right? LOL! :)

Here are some photos of this past week.

Happy Girl's Day

So, for Girl's Day I usually make homemade mochi,
but this year I didn't have time to do it.

I just spent time with the kids. I took them to Ala Moana.
We went to the Disney Store. They were having this "Disney Quest"
game for the kids to play, and they got a little puzzle as the prize.

After that we just ate lunch, then I took them to get shave ice
at the Shimazu Store down the road from our house.
They have the best shave ice! Better than Matsumoto's in my opinion.

=

My dad came over later to cut Bub's hair. It was getting kinda long
and he said he had a hard time seeing in Kenpo.
I also decided to cut Mimi's hair. This was the first time I ever cut the
length of her hair. I cut her bangs before, but never the length.
It's a little shorter than what I wanted, but it'll grow.

Yummy Goodness!

Saturday was our church Christmas party and I
volunteered to bring dessert.
So, I made my White Chocolate Peppermint Rice Krispies.

I made them last year for our family Christmas dinner,
and it was a big hit.
The sweetness of the chocolate and the minty peppermint
is a perfect combination.
The kids love it. :)

I also found this 3 minute fudge recipe at MADE. (<---- link)
Super easy and yummy. :)

What kind of yummy desserts are you making this holiday season?

Angry Bird Christmas

It's gonna be an Angry Bird Christmas. ;)

My kids love Angry Birds, so that was my inspiration
for our tree this year.

Our tree was looking a little plain with just the ornaments,
so I added some sheer gold ribbon around it.
Now I think it looks a lot better. :)

The kids and I made gingerbread cookies today.
All I can say is....Yum! :)
Also, tonight was our church Christmas party. It was nice.
Food, Games and Fun. :)

8 more days until Christmas!

Day 15

Day 15 - Decorate the Christmas tree. :)

Tonight with put the ornaments on the tree.
This year we got a fuax tree and it already has light on it.
That made decorating a lot easier. No tangles lights. ;)

The tree still looks a little plain, so we might get gold ribbon to go on it.

It's looking a lot more like Christmas. :)

Day 11

This year I am doing the Advent Calendar with the kids.
I've seen other bloggers who do it every year and I thought it would be fun to try it.

Today was, Day 11 - Picnic at the park.

So after church we bought lunch and headed to the park.
It was super windy so we didn't stay too long.
Bub got to ride his razor scooter for a little bit.

The kids love the Adevent Calendar. Mimi gets a little too excited and grabs
any number off of it, so I have to make sure she grabs the right one. lol.

Days so far:
Day 1 - Draw a picture of a Santa
Day 2 - Game night
Day 3 - Celebrate Mimi's Birthday
Day 4 - Have a sweet treat
Day 5 - Do a Christmas craft
Day 6 - Stickers!
Day 7 - Play with play doh
Day 8 - Cocoa Night
Day 9 - Do a Christmas craft

{Made by Me} Monday - Minnie Mouse

{Made by Me} Monday - Minnie Mouse

This year I decided to make Mimi's halloween costume.
She wanted to be Minnie Mouse and I thought that would be easy enough to do.
I just made a simple peasant dress, that way she can wear it again.

Nowadays, it's unreal to spend $20 and up for something your kids will
wear for just one day! Crazy!

I have yet to decide to make Bub his costume or not. He has his mind set on a
costume he already wants. Not sure if i'm gonna be able to make that
for him in time. =/

What are your kids dressing up as for Halloween?
Are you dressing up too?

Are you ready....?

Are you ready for Halloween??

Today I made a Mini Halloween Wreath for our door. :)
I've always seen them on others blogs, and even my sister creates
her own wreaths for different seasons (she lives on the mainland),
so I thought I'd give it a try. Finally. LOL!

I used cardboard and pages from a phonebook for the wreath,
cut out a couple bats from foam sheets,
and added some white, orange and black pom poms.
It's simple. And I like it.
PLUS, it didn't cost a thing since I had all the
supplies on hand! Yay! :)

This year I am making Mimi's costume. She wants to be Minnie Mouse.
That's pretty easy. As for Bub, he wants to be Ash from Pokemon.
I'm not sure if I'm gonna make his, or just buy it from the store.
Still debating on that one.

Have you made a Halloween wreath for your door?

Started putting up decorations?

Are you making your children's costumes this year?

I'd love to know! :)

Labor Day Weekend

Hey guys!
I'm kinda late on this, but how was your Labor Day weekend?
Do anything interesting or fun?

As for us, this past weekend was our annual Okinawin Festival.
The kids didn't wanna go, so I ended up going with my mom and sister.
Good times and ono (yummy) food!

For Labor Day we didn't really do anything special.
I just took the kids to Kaka'ako Park.
We had a picnic and they rode their scooters for a bit.
Then we just layed out in the shade under a tree enjoying the time spent together.
